Claire Hindrup

Claire Hindrup grew up in Olympia, Washington, and started dancing at two years old.  She began her dance training, specializing in classical ballet technique and pointe at the age of seven at Studio West Dance Academy.  At SWDA, she was cast in various roles in full-length ballets such as Mirliton Lead in The Nutcracker, Neapolitan Lead in Swan Lake, Swanhilda’s friend in Coppelia, and a Willi in Giselle.  She also was selected to perform in pieces choreographed by Pacific Northwest Ballet Soloist, Joshua Grant, in 2018, 2019, and 2020 for various galas and festivals.  Claire attended summer intensives at Oregon Ballet Theater and Ballet Austin, where she received high-level ballet, partnering, contemporary, and repertory training as well as participating in Studio West’s summer intensive, which included choreographing experience.  She is well-versed in classical ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, and pointe work.

Claire currently is at Boise State University studying Integrated Media and Strategic Communications and minoring in Dance.  Through her schooling, she discovered and was recruited by Marla Hansen, owner of Idaho Dance Theatre to dance semi-professionally alongside her studies.  She has been with Idaho Dance Theater for two seasons and is about to start her third as she enters her senior year of college.  She has also taught a variety of levels in Studio West’s summer intensive in 2021 and 2022 and is excited for her third year as a summer instructor!
