Studio West Dance Theatre’s 2024-2025 season is in full swing. Thank you to our families and patrons for your continued support!

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering is a great opportunity to be a part of something magical!  You get a different perspective of what it takes to put one of our wonderful productions together AND you get to share this special time with your dancer in real-time. Plus, we couldn’t do all this without our parent volunteers! You are needed and appreciated!

Is Volunteering Required?

Nutcracker (November/December): Yes
Spring ballet (April/May): Yes
Track City (May):  Yes
Spring Showcase (May/June): No, but it is imperative that parents volunteer for Spring Showcase performances to keep our younger dancers safe backstage.  There must be two adults with each class, levels Discover Dance through Ballet 3, Beginning Jazz through Jazz 3, Free Boys Dance, and Tiny Hoppers through Hip Hop 1 or 2 depending on age of the group.

What if I can’t volunteer for The Nutcracker or Spring Ballet?

You are required to pay a $50 opt-out volunteer fee, payable at Studio West Dance Academy.

What age must a volunteer be?

Volunteers must be age 14+, be assertive AND friendly.  We want our volunteers to be in control, not be controlled by the young ones.

How do I sign up to volunteer?

Sign-ups will be made available through a web-based sign-up program. You will receive an email when sign-ups are open with a link to both front-of-house and backstage volunteer opportunities. We try to have the sign-ups open before tickets go on sale.

Do I get anything if I volunteer?

There are certain volunteer positions that earn you a credit on your SWDA account.  You can use this credit towards anything purchased through your SWDA account (including class tuition).

Do I have to attend any training or meetings in order to volunteer?

We will have mandatory parent volunteer meetings during your child’s auditions for Nutcracker, the spring ballet, and Track City.  Our volunteer coordinator will go over specifics as well as answer your questions.
